More New York!

Since my last post, most of my NYC days were spent studying for the bar exam. So hard to focus with all the sights, food, and other fun stuff going on outside. But once in awhile, I took breaks to explore the city and hang out with Justin. I couldn't get enough of Central Park!

Gay marriage was made legal at the end of Pride Week in June. It s such an exciting time to be in the city! We spent that weekend strolling through the park, and went to the off-Broadway show Avenue Q on Saturday night. Justin had to work on Sunday, so I went solo to the Pride Parade... And it was amazing!

Pretty soon it was 4th of July weekend and Nate Came to visit. We haas a pretty busy weekend, walking around NYU, Wall St, South Street Seaport, High Line Park, and so many other places I can't even remember them all.

We also spent a good part of the weekend trying some of the best food NYC has to offer, and took Nate on a mini-tour of some of our favorites...

Bisous Ciao macaron shop...

Capizzi for Italian style pizza...

Balkanika for chicken kebabs and other Mediterranean goodies...

and Ariana for Afghan food, including the BEST iced tea ever...

Kum Gang San was the best Korean food ever. Can't wait to go back again. So good!

We hit up Chelsea Market on the 4th, and had a random lunch of crepes, meat pies, and milkshakes. One of the bakeries had the cutest little patriotic treats, but we were way too full by that point!

We walked through Chelsea, the Meatpacking District, and the West Village. I LOVE that area. We found these neat tiles that kids from all over the US made in memory of 9/11, pretty cool reminder of the holiday.

After stopping at a little Mexican restaurant for some lime beers, we headed back to Hell's Kitchen and bought groceries for our all-American dinner.. Hot dogs, burgers, potato chips, watermelon, and beer! Tons of people were outside our apartment building waiting for the
Hudson River fireworks to start...

More pics from our apartment view...

I'm glad we didn't have to wait all day and could enjoy the fireworks from our building's rooftop!

It was a great weekend and we were sad to see Nate leave... Plus it meant that the bar exam was only 3 weeks away... Yuuuuck.
