Day 13: Prague- Laundry and Svickova

Pretty low key day... I slept in, had a seriously delicious breakfast at the hostel, and did laundry for 3 hours (slow and expensive hostel washers and dryers). I also did a ton of research online to figure out my hostels for the next few weeks, and made a bus reservation for a day trip to Cesky Krumlov the following day. SO there aren't a whole lot of pics from my day... But I did do some exploring at night! My hostel receptionist told me about a great restaurant, and even told me what to order. So I headed to Prazky Most u Valsu and ordered a beer and a dish called svickova- beef tenderloin with gravy, cranberries, whipped cream, and bread dumplings.

Beef and whipped cream sounded a little suspicious to me but I cannot even convey how DELICIOUS it was. Oh. My. Gosh. That was a pleasant surprise... And of course the beer was good too, because I don't think I've found a beer yet that I didn't like. After dinner I did some souvenir hunting for family (yep, family, you have souvenirs coming!) and walked around a lot more. Here are a few of the sights:

There was a cool little medieval market going on in the Old Town Square, with blacksmiths making weapons, women making pastries, men selling tasty looking meats, the usual... There was also a stand that was selling different types of potato casseroles. Kind of a cool idea- basically just roasted potatoes mixed with different ingredients- meats, veggies, cheeses, etc. I didn't try any because I was full from my svickova, and now I kind of regret it!

After a little more souvenir shopping, I went back to the hostel and went to sleep pretty early... Big day in Cesky Krumlov tomorrow, the bus leaves at 7' and I have no idea where it leaves from...
