After a nice long hike up a pretty long and steep road, the monastery was in sight! There were some great views from up there...

When we finally got all the way up to the monastery, we were able to take a tour of the monastery library. It seriously looked like something out of a Harry Potter book and all I could think about was how much Justin would looove to have a room like this in our house one day :)

So after hiking all the way up to the monastery, we were really ready for the brewery part. And it definitely didn't disappoint... It was quite possibly the most delicious beer I've ever had. Yummm.

Notice the ridiculously high alcohol content! Nice! We also tried a bottle of their white wine and a Czech dumpling sampler. Also good... just not nearly as good as the beer!

After we paid the bill (and got one more beer for the road) we made our way back toward the hostel and walked through some really pretty parks. The walk back was also a lot more enjoyable since it was downhill...

And it didn't hurt that it was gorgeous weather and gorgeous scenery the whole walk home. That night we had a quick dinner at theIndian place across from the hostel, then went to an AWESOME bar called U Sudu... I don't know how else to describe it except underground-tunnel-cave bar, and the photos really don't do it justice.

Czech beers consumed: Gambrinus and Pilsner Urquell... Then we added a little variety to the evening and tried Absinthe. It was not exactly delicious. We met a couple of French dudes who showed us how to do it: get a small spoonful of sugar, dip it in the Absinthe, light it on fire and let it liquefy, mix it in the drink... And enjoy! I was successful in all steps, except the "enjoy" part.

It tasted terrible, but this bar was so cool that I was able to look past it. New life goal: start an underground-tunnel-cave bar back home.
