The Arizona Bar Exam... and the Aftermath

The last few weeks were a blur with bar exam crunch time, but I made it through! Before leaving NYC and heading to Phoenix for the big test, I made a weekend long pitstop in Minneapolis for the Meirick family reunion. It was great to see everyone, but unfortunately I spent most of the weekend holed up in a hotel room watching bar review lectures and taking practice tests, so I have no pictures to show for it!

Once I got back to Arizona, I had one week of near-constant studying, two days of a mentally and physically exhausting bar exam, and then freedom! I didn't feel great about the test, but neither did anyone else, so that helps.

Afterwards, I didn't even know what to do with myself. So on my first free day, I went apartment shopping and signed a lease! Below are some pics of the model, though my floor plan is a little bit bigger. The good news is that I have an extra bedroom for anyone who wants to come visit me in the desert!

Other highlights of AZ were the haboob dust storm, trying Kelli's favorite beer (Papago brewery's Orange Blossom) and eating pizza at Mellow Mushroom, hanging out with a few Meirick cousins who came to visit (especially taking the girls for shopping and cupcakes in Scottsdale), and just hanging out carefree for a few days.

I also made two super adventurous decisions: I got my hair dyed blonde-ish, and decided to pack everything I needed for my 8 week trip into one carry-on suitcase! It was a LOT harder than I thought... But I did it!

I figured if I really really hated it, at least no one in Europe knows me :)

One bag, eight weeks, nine countries! Can't wait!
